Our Demolition Services
Though Harbour Hazmat works primarily with the removal and remediation of hazardous materials, we have many leading contractors that we work with to perform demolitions of all sizes. This is often done in conjunction with the removal and remediation of hazardous materials, like asbestos.
Depending on the project timeline, budget, and intricacy, picking the right method of demolition will make a big difference. We follow strict WorkSafe BC guidelines for all hazardous materials and removals.

Mechanical demolition and deconstruction
Mechanical demolition is the fastest and cheapest way to demolish a structure. After all potentially hazardous materials have been identified and removed, the structure is demolished using heavy machinery. Materials are often unseparated and disposed of as mixed demo waste. Harbour Hazmat works with leading demolition experts during the mechanical demolition process to ensure hidden hazardous materials are identified and removed safely to ensure employees are kept safe throughout the project.
Deconstruction describes the process of removing materials by hand. This may be partial to the demolition of the structure. This technique is often utilized when building materials are being kept, sold, or repurposed. Through this method, we can ensure materials are being removed delicately. For materials being disposed of, we can also ensure that materials are separated and recycled which often saves money on disposal costs and is a more eco-friendly way of disposing of the materials. This method is more time-consuming than mechanical demolition.
